Literature is a fine thing. The other day I suddenly remembered a few details from a book I’d read growing up. I read a lot as a kid (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea I think) and was surprised that I’d read it and not just watched the movie, though I did that too. Reading was better than TV (though I watched way too much of that). Encyclopedia Brown, The Hardy Boys, The Mad Scientist Club, Swiss Family Robinson, etc ad finitum. There are a few books that I didn’t read and a few that I did and would like to go back and re-read. Here are a few books I can’t wait to start reading to Anders and Finn at bedtime.

  • Swiss Family Robinson
  • Treasure Island
  • Robinson Crusoe
  • 20,000 leagues under the sea
  • Tom Sawyer / Huckleberry Finn

I’ll add to these later. Any recommendations?
