By land and sea, Anders Coble Harrison WILL go where he wants.
Or if you have a faster connection try this larger (55mb) but crisper copy:
Lately, everyone has been asking, “What’s baby Anders up to?". People want to know if he walks, if he talks, if he computes complicated mathematical formulas in his head. Heck, he’s just an 8.5 month old baby!
So, I decided to do a guest post on Henry’s blog to let Anders’ fan club know how he spends his days. (Photo captions are written by Baby Anders.)
Baby Anders loves to put things in his mouth. This, above all, is his favorite activity.

Second only to putting things in his mouth is standing. Baby Anders will pull himself up on anything that gets within his reach.

Outside is the place Anders likes to be.

Watching the dogs is fun.

Reading (eating) books is a blast. This is his favorite read “Noxious and Invasive Plants of Idaho".

Baby Anders loves to eat Swiss chard and beets. And any other veggie that gets shoved in his mouth. He also enjoys multi-grain cereal, plain yogurt, tofu and tahini. Yummmmm….

Playing in (eating) the leaves is an autumnal pleasure.

Always style-conscious, Anders likes to show off his mohawk.

Anders cares about other creatures and always tells folks to lock up their food (and babies) in bear country.

Crinkling his nose is a real highlight.

Always the intellectual, Anders enjoys time at museums.

Swimming with the family at Chico Hot Springs is a blast.

Down by the river. Anders likes to take daily walks with Rigby and Diesel by the Yellowstone River. Sometimes he pauses for a photo op.

Baby Anders enjoys dipping his tootsies in the creek after a grueling hike.

Oh, how Baby Anders loves spending time with his grandparents.

Ever since he was a wee baby, Anders has loved to bounce and bounce. Thanks to Aunt Susannah, he is the proud owner of a Johnny Jump Up.

There are a few things Baby Anders does NOT like. These include going to bed, diaper changes, hitting his head, and not being able to get to what he wants.

These are but a few of the ways little Anders spends his days. He has a huge fan club at the local coffee shop where he and dad hang out often. He likes to grab the faces of other children. He enjoys trying to suck the faces off his parents.
I know what you are wondering, “Does he crawl, does he have teeth?” While he can ably move about a room with a series of log rolls and odd scrunching movements, he does not crawl. And as the person who still breastfeeds him, I am happy to report that there are no teeth, yet. Give the dude a little time and he will do all sorts of amazing things.
Don’t forget to read my blog!
In the course of parenting events certain things become self evident. Such as the need for Grandparents and other family members, upon the arrival of a new babe, to distribute lots and lots of fluffy brightly colored animals. Their hearts are big and they are thrilled by the new arrival and so they give…and give…and give. The result is predictable with unerring certainty. The new babe, while loved, lives in the shadow of potential and literal smothering. See below:
We would like to thank all of Anders’ grandparents for their love and generosity. But for the love of GOD!…..
Melynda and Anders and Grandma Nicki went on a tour of Red Lodge and the Beartooth Highway for a couple of days. They did some hiking and stayed at the Yodeler Inn.
