As you may know, Melynda published a guide to Cross Country Skiing in SW Montana this fall. What you may not know is that, according to the store’s manager, her book was the OVERALL hottest selling book at the local Borders book store over the Christmas Holidays. To me, that is pretty amazing, that her book outsold all the others at a national big box store location. In case you think this is a fluke, she just gave a slide show presentation for the local chapter of the Montana Wilderness Society. The presentations done by MWS usually draw about 20-30 people in my experience. Melynda’s show drew about 100. I didn’t get to go b/c it was past Anders’ bedtime and the baby monitor doesn’t reach all the way over to Bozeman, but this allowed here to include a couple of pictures of me falling face first in the bushes (unauthorized) which drew some good laughs so I guess I did my part (yay). Apparently their were people with copies that had dog eared pages and filled with post-it page markers. Anders and I are super proud of her and think that you should check out her book if you haven’t already (Here) >Melynda's Book

So my dad has decided to take the plunge and get a new-to-us drift boat. I got to help him take it out on the lower Madison the other day. I have to say, it was a nice way to fish and a great afternoon with my Dad and Diesel. We each hooked into a decent fish but neither managed to get it into the net. So it goes. We spent most of our time getting a feel for rowing a drift boat, a new experience for both of us.

I’d rather be fetching.

Tying one on.

The one that got away!

Family Breakfast

09/17/07 21:30

I went into Yellowstone to film a back country pack trip / Fishing trip for three days. I had to leave just before Anders and Melynda got back from their Red Lodge trip so we spent last Sunday as a family day. We gathered rocks from the woods for our walkway, swam and ate at Chico Hot Springs, but first we had a nice relaxing breakfast at Chadz. Chadz is one of the local coffee houses and where many of Anders’ fan club hang out.

Ready for coffee

Waiting for Service.
